Headmaster
A Memory of Seal.
I can remember Oak Bank as a boarder, the Headmaster was Mr Ainley, the assistant Headmaster was Mr Turner a rather big fellow, the other teachers were, Mr Thomas, (music teacher who played jazz on the clarinet), my favourite, Mr Easor, one of two Welsh brothers, (both sport teachers, you guess, "yes" rugby), an art teacher who wanted to write children's books but I can't remember his name and Mr Cole the woodwork teacher. Mr and Mrs Ainley came up to my wedding in 1974, always thought of them as my father and mother. "Sorry" it was an all boys school when I went, The Grove next door was the girls school, shame not allowed in. Found a girlfriend in Sevenaoks, I was number 5. Only 35 children there when I went. They knocked down the old tin chapel and extended the school within a year of me being there. The corridor to the upper school went on forever. Loved the teachers, loved the dell., loved my time there.
