Wareham, River Frome, 1954 66
My father and I had boats on the river for many years, on the moorings in the picture. The boat with the cabin sporting a port hole in the side belonged to me. I spent most of my childhood on Wareham's rivers, fishing and boating.

Holidays
We used to go to Hull to visit relatives. My mam and dad had friends who used to have a shop on the front in Hessle. I went to Little Switzerland as it was called. One year we went there and a man had a barbeque, he put chickens on it, I ...Read more

Butlers Boat House
Looking at this picture reminded me of days we spent hiring a boat from Butlers boat house and going up the river to Walton-on-Thames. Good old days, won't see them again.

The Photo Of Guildford, Punting 1895
Whilst the man is 'punting' he is in fact the ferryman and the boat is the Ferry at St Catherine. A replica was built in the 1960s (?) and was used for some years prior to the building of the present bridge. Mr Peter Turner who lives in Meadow Bank nearby might be more help.

Chaigeley School 1950 To 1955
I stayed at Chaigeley for the period from 1950 to 1955 and have some very pleasant memories of my time there. Mr Goynes was the headmaster and my favourite teacher was Mr (Hackenbush) Hill who taught me a whole lot ...Read more

The Boating Lake
My siblings and I were regulars here for much of the 1950s and 1960s. Our maternal grandparents lived on Northgate Street and we often marched down to the park to go on the boats. There were five of us and my oldest brother was ...Read more

Happy Times
I remember the creepy pasages down past the art room to the cloakroom. I used to grab my coat and run! I also remember being allowed to play among the conker trees which provided a corridor to run underneath. When the leaves fell we ...Read more
