Rows of stone cottages and rolling farmland characterise Brookhouse, which is close to Caton with Littledale and a popular retreat for commuters to Lancaster.
Whirlow Brook House was formerly the home of Sir Walter Benton Jones.

The house is called Brook House; there is an inscription above the crest over the porch (just to the right of the road sign) that dates the building to 1574.
