In 1887 shops were erected on both sides (see 64239, pages 24-25).

On the left is the corner of Lloyds Bank; then comes Siddal and Kirby's shoe shop, the Wool Shop, now Nationwide with a new shop front, and the Midland Bank.
A parade of local shops photographed from the junction with Pine Walk is dominated by T H Shepherd (tobacconist and stationer).
Wilmslow`s main shopping street would contain all the shops needed by the community, including their links with the outside world, as the newspaper shop demonstrates in its adverts.

The empty shop on the left is now occupied by Doble`s motor cycles.
