More about this scene

This is the classic view of Golden Cap (centre), literally gold when its sandy top catches the sun; at 618ft above sea level it is the highest cliff on the south coast. Seatown hamlet consists of the Anchor Inn (seawards) and a coastguard station, comprising a watch house (facing the sea), Guard House Cottages, and the boathouse. Seatown House, with a verandah, faces a flagpole in the middle of a circular drive. The other buildings cluster around Seatown Farm (right). The view is westwards to the ledges of Cann Harbour (centre left) extending into Lyme Bat at low tide.
