Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Fortunately, the busy A33 bypasses this sprawling Hampshire village. A familiar telephone box can be seen on the left - in regular use in the days before mobile phones - and towards the northern end of the main street lies an old milepost which definitely would have been here in the 1950s. It indicates that Reading is 11 miles, Basingstoke 5 miles and Southampton 35 miles from here.

Happy Days
I lived in the village from the age of 9 years to 11 years. My parents were Norman and Dorothy Gower, and my dad was the manager of John Miller's the grocery store, across from the White Horse pub. Our next door neighbours were Mr and Mrs Bullpit who lived in a thatched cottage. Amy, their only daughter, worked for my dad. My best friend name was Norma Shelvey. Sherfield Post Office
My wife and I owned Sherfield-on-Loddon post office (pictured far left) from July 1991 until July 1999. In 1992 the shop front pictured was extended out into the garden about 15 feet and a complete refit undertaken. We did, however, retain the hand made sign over the shop front which was renovated and rehung on the new part of the building. We had our daughter and son whilst we were living there and Sherfield will always hold a special place in our memories.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
