A Memory of Sidcup.

I spent many days playing in this park, jumping the River Shuttle and meeting the people from Lamorbey.
Later I played football for Sidcup in the adjoining park, Marlborough

Wasn't it a lovely park? We lived in Berwick Cresent and would paddle in the Shuttle, going under all the bridges including the main road and emerge in the park. It seemed very daring at the time! When polio was around we were banned from the Shuttle but took no notice. There was a lovely part of the park where the banks of the river sloped leaving a sandy 'beach' of sorts. We would often picnic there.
