Skegness

A Memory of Skegness.

Hello,
I was shipped off to skegness when I was 8 years old when my father died it was to give mum a rest, I remember the matron who had a room off the dormatry we were not supposed to talk after lights out. The nit nurse used diluted vinegar on our hair which smelt awful. The school room was sparce and we had to copy off the blackboard the whole of Hiawatha a little at a time. I was there for 3 weeks which seemed like an age. We went to sunshine corner and the cinema. Not sure if it was fond memories or not !!

I spent some time in Skegness in a place called Roseberry house this was a place for and dare I say it under privaliged kids and for other reasons it was back in 1977-78 horrible place and teachers could smack you and often did. I'm here today and looking for it now just to see if it's still here. It's on a road called Roseberry avenue. Hope this helps you as much as it helped me
