More about this scene
The Civic Hall was opened by the Queen in 1962 and served as a venue for social gatherings, meetings, exhibitions and amateur theatricals. Council offices and a civic suite were built alongside it after Solihull became a county borough in 1964. All were demolished in 1998 to make way for the Touchwood Centre, a shopping and leisure complex which opened in 2001.
