South Wigston Junior School In Bassett Street

A Memory of South Wigston.

This reminds me of John Rawlinson, Timothy Greenhow, Paul Manning and Anthony....? all good friends I left behind me when my family moved away from Leicester to Lyme Regis, Dorset in 1964. These pictures match my memories of South Wigston and surrounding area when it seems to have been a curious mix of vigorous industrial activity (my mates all seemed to want to go straight to work as soon as possible!) and surviving rural countryside all around, now much built over. Where are those long-lost friends...?

Hello members of this group.

I'm trying to trace the history of my father, David Capp, who I believe taught at this school 1963 to 1965.
I would also like to check/confirm whether David Garrot also taught at this school during this period. David Garrot is/was my Godfather - we've not been in touch for decades and I don't know if he's still alive..
My father died in 2016, and my mother, who is now suffering Alzheimer's, is moving to assisted living. It was while clearing her house a suitcase of photos, newspapeer cuttings etc was found,
I'm trying to compile an album of family history, and I would be most grateful for mainly any memories of David Capp, but also any memories of David Garrot.
I can be reached on joe.capp004@gmail.com.
Thank you for any information that would help me understand my father's impressive life.
Joe Capp.
