I was born in 1933 and grew up in Allendale Avenue.I have wonderful memories of my childhood before during and after the war. I went first to North Road Infant School, then Lady Margaret Road School after Dormers Wells and Southall Tech.From 1950 to 1955 I served an apprenticeship at Hoover Ltd in Perivale. We lived in Hillingdon but I used to often visit Southall as a child as my father and uncle had shops in South Road. On Saturday my father and I used to arrive early morning then visit a cafe a few doors away with plasticised tables where we enjoyed hot drinks. I moved to southall with my parents and a younger sister in the late 1950's. My parents immigrated from India and I was about 5-6 years old. I went to Featherstone Road school and then onto Western Road higher Secondary School in the 1960's.

I was born in 1951 in Lea Road and moved to the Havelock Estate when I was 3, went to Clifton Road school and then on to Western Rd School when I was 11, does anyone remember that time. My maiden name is Cowburn
I started life in Leamington Rd in1938, then moved to Longford Crt.Have school picture here with twins Margaret and Pamela Musson, Jean Humphries, Gillian Green, Ann French Carol Mandy plus teacher think her name was Miss Kerridge.Also was friendly with Pat Rodgers who married Southall footballer Kenny Merry.Ann (Then Cordery)
We moved to Southall when my brother Peter was two 1959/60 From a maisonettes in Hayes. I remember my dad had a lot of work to do in the house in Greenford Avenue as when we moved in it had creosote on doors and dark green paint. It was soon changed into a nice home with my dads hard work. My elder sister Linda and I had the biggest room at the back, mum and dad had front bedroom and Peter the box room.

My family moved to Kingsley Avenue from Acton when I was four, and when I started at North Road Infants School, my mother hid me behind the blackboard and easel because I cried! But I progressed from there to the Juniors, and my friends were Harry Parker, Harry Stubbs, Pat Bailey and Billy Burke, whose small, terraced houses were behind Doctor Olive's grand house. I don't have many good memories of Southall. My family lived in Norwood Green when I was born in 1947 and we moved to 31 North Avenue when I was five. We had a street party for the Coronation and my father told me that it was my birthday party because I was born on June 3! It was a long time before I worked out the truth of that.

We moved there when you moved out. My dad, John gray did a swap with your dad - mr. Ellis. I vividly remember moving there from golf links and had a great childhood there. My parents sold up in 1994 and moved back to Ireland then moved back to larch crescent off yeading fork. Lol. My brothers still live in yeading I moved to USA in 1983. Great memories of 108. How interesting Beverley. My Grandparents (Thomas & Emily Wood) lived at 135 Townsend Road, from when the houses were built in 1908 until my grandmothers death in 1947! An Uncle Married Hilda Redman who lived at No 36! I can remember (just) visiting my grandmother during the war years but can remember nothing about the house. Did they have bathrooms - was there a garden or just a back yard?
