Approaching Southborough from Tonbridge, on the right-hand side we have J Martin, the carrier, with a lamp outside; next to him is the butcherís shop of F Hackett, then T Edenborough, a harness maker. The Wesleyan Chapel, erected in 1870, was demolished when a new Methodist church was built further along the road in 1936. On the left is the Imperial Hotel at the junction with Pennington Road.
