More about this scene
One of Southport's double-deck tramcars rattles its way along. In 1900 the tramway took delivery of some single-deck cars known as 'Californians' on account of their American looks. In June 1920 four Southport Californians were sold to Barrow-in-Furness Corporation Tramways as a stop-gap measure until new cars ordered from Brush were delivered.
