Nothing changes. The same cows are being herded in almost the same place as No. 390020 (page 46) in this view looking the opposite way. The Peterville Inn, which has since acquired a wide porch, stands by the junction with Quay Road leading to Trevaunance Cove to the right of the camera. All is quiet in this scene, but increasing traffic congestion, both local and tourist, finally led to the narrow hill becoming a one-way street.

War Time Evacuees

in 1944 we were taken to St Agnes, me, my two sisters and my mum. I was only 5 years old. They put us in the hotel Driftwood Spars, St Agnes. I went to school there, I can't remember the name of it. My mum worked in the pub in the village, as my dad was fighting the war. Loved every day we were there - came home from school then down to the beach. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
