More about this scene
The names of the hotels—the Imperial, the Majestic and the Grand - indicate that the resort could attract a cosmopolitan and wealthy clientele. Entertainment was provided by leading celebrities of the day, and some of the visitors were distinguished figures. The Grand Hotel stood opposite the sunken gardens, and at this time Miss K Holloway was manageress.
