More about this scene
On 6 August 1872 the building of St Anne's parish church began. As with Lytham, it was foreseen that with more residents and more visitors larger church buildings must be available. St Anne's Church, Heyhouses seated 400 people. Lady Eleanor Cecily Clifton sponsored the building and gave a peal of 8 bells in 1890; John, Joseph and William Melling, fishermen brothers, carted the bricks.
