St Austell, Fore Street 1920

More about this scene
The church tower presides over the east end of Fore Street, where two prams and a barrow are the only wheeled traffic on a sunny day. George Oliver`s shoe shop (left) was one of several Cornish branches in the early 20th century; it still exists in a modernised form as Messrs Timpson. The projecting storeys of Tremayne House partly obscure the church tower on the left.
