More about this scene
The early cross which gives the square its name is prominent here, but the top of the tower of St David's Cathedral can be seen beyond the buildings on the right. Established in AD550, St David's is the birthplace of St David, and the cathedral was built in the valley where he worked. St David's is the smallest city in Britain and has drawn pilgrims for a millennium and a half.
