St Germans, The Quay c.1955
Photo ref:

More about this scene
Now derelict, this was once an important commercial quay on a tidal branch of the River Lynher. The fine viaduct behind was built across the River Tiddy in 1908 to replace an earlier bridge, and still carries the main line railway. The curious structure on the quay was for loading vessels with quarried stone.
