All My Yesterdays.
A Memory of Stanford-le-Hope.
This is not about the Norwegian Mission.
If you look to the left of the Mission in the background you can see the Hassenbrook School Annexe.
I lived in Corringham and went to Herd Lane Junior School. I started at Herd Lane in about 1955 having been to St Mary's Infant School in Lampits Hill for 2 years. The problem was that post war, there were many more children being born and due to lack of room, we had to spend our 3rd and 4th junior year at Hassenbrook Secondary Modern. They placed us in the annexe where there were 4 or 5 classrooms. We were kept apart from the older kids in the big school and we had our own playing field. We were bused to and fro each day.
