More about this scene
There has probably been a church here for a thousand years, high on the hill overlooking the creek that once flowed from Stonehouse to Pennycomequick. The Church of St Andrew and St Mary has parts of the tower and porches that are 15th century; the rest dates from 1751, when it was enlarged to cater for the growing population working in the dockyard.
