More about this scene
In the 19th century the college established an enviable reputation for its scientific studies, producing meteorological and astronomical data to an extremely high standard. So much so, that, in the 1870s, Fathers Perry and Sidgreaves were charged with making official observations of eclipses and other important events including a transit of Venus.
