Some of these houseboats are still lived in. Others have been adapted or destroyed, as they were in poor condition. In the Stourport basin, in dry dock by the big wharf, boats can be refurbished; the basin, reached by the canal through locks, was built to accommodate and service longboats with a full industrial schedule.
