St Leonard's Hospital was founded in 1867 for '... the relief and treatment of poor persons suffering from accident or curable diseases'. Visiting hours were from 2-4 on Tuesdays and Fridays and 4-6 on Sundays. Between 1900 and 1907 the left wing was heightened to two storeys. The hospital is still in use today.
