A Georgian house called Belle Vue was built at the foot of Newton Road in the 1780s. This was demolished in 1871 and replaced by this house, which was built for Edmund Stedman, the Town Clerk The building became the Borough Offices from c1918 until 1974. This is the south side of the house, which is now the Sudbury Learning Centre.
