More about this scene
The Town Hall was built in 1826 on the site of the Exchange Inn, a property belonging to the Borough. Designed by Thomas Ginn of Sudbury, it has three bays with a central pediment supported by four Ionic columns. To the right in Old Market is the general furnishers and ironmonger's of John Simpson, with an advert for Singers and Norwich Union outside. The three-storey building is James Harding the chemist's. In the foreground a girl poses with hands on hips, while a boy laughs at her antics.
