Happy Days In Sunbury
A Memory of Sunbury.
I lived in Sunbury from 1955 to 1967 , I went to St Ignatius school and then to St Teresa's Convent. Loved both schools so much. Had a wonderful childhood there, sunny days ,playing out all day in the summer. I remember going shopping in Hounslow and Kingston. And the shops at Sunbury cross , I think there was a wool shop that sold little cheap gifts that I bought my mum on Mother's Day & birthday out of my pocket money. My dad took us to the river with nets & and we would get a ride on the ferry( with the pole) sometimes we would go to the park (rek) and watch cricket matches, after being on the swings & slide. I went to a youth club , think it was down near the river somewhere. Not far from Nursery Road. Remember I met my first boyfriend there, his name was Doughlas and his dad was a police man. He took me to the pictures, was a real gentleman. Loved living there. Then we all moved to Lincoln. Had fun there too. But such happy memories of Sunbury.

I too was a member there, and played for the football team and we won the SW Middlesex 6 a side competition in (I think) 1956.
I also won the S W Midlesex Youth darts competition, in 1956, both singles and doubles, both held at Lower Feltham Youth Club, and still have the medals.
Ah, such happy memories.
