Sunbury, The Magpie Hotel, Thames Street 1890

More about this scene
Sunbury-on-Thames was only incorporated into Surrey in the administrative changes which took place in 1965, but the village dates back to Anglo-Saxon times. Many of the houses along this street feature the locally made brown bricks. Just before the grand portico of the Magpie Hotel, a uniformed postman can be glimpsed leaning on his penny-farthing bicycle.
