Frida ...........
A Memory of Sutton Coldfield.
I met Frida on vacation in Douglas Isle of Man around 1946. I was from Glasgow in those days. Young love ran rampant. Frida cried when she headed home to Sutton Coldfield and I to Glasgow. As they are wont to say in Scotland - I loved her so much I almost told her. But we wrote a lot and I made a trip to see her. Her family were fine, but her friends were disappointed, I felt, since I couldn't possibly live up to the image that Frida in love probably described. And so things petered out, the letters got fewer as Frida rightly moved on. After a somewhat adventurous life I now live in Seattle USA with a wife I love dearly and have two great grandchildren, but can never forget the first love Frida -- only her last name !
