More about this scene

St Barnabas Church was built in the 1880s to the designs of Carpenter and Ingelow. It served the Sutton New Town development to the east of Manor Park up to the Carshalton parish boundary. The road is now St Barnabas Road. The church, on the west side of the road, is built in brick with a polygonal bell tower. There is a modern vicarage to the right, but the boundary wall, railings and gate piers have all survived.

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

This is the church that I was christened in and my older sister was married in, it was just down the road from where I lived in Carshalton Road. I also went to Sunday School there. It was a beautiful old church. Sadly I have not been there for a long time, but now I have seen the photo I will make an effort to visit.
