More about this scene
The Temperance movement was as significant here as it was in many Welsh towns. A boy is displaying an impressive basket of shellfish and an enormous flatfish. The building immediately beyond is the Tudor Merchant's house, dating from Elizabethan times and now in the care of the National Trust.
