This Cotswold market town possesses one of the greatest concentrations of protected buildings in the country. Among them is the parish church of St Mary the Virgin. In 1777 the medieval church was demolished and replaced by the Gothic Revival building designed by Francis Hiorn of Worcester we see today. Its spire is the fourth highest in England.
