More about this scene
This is an excellent study of an Edwardian post office, with the postman on his cart, the telegraph boys at the door, and the postcards on display. The tree-bark ornamentation of the lintels and window-boxes is an unusual feature. The white house next door - known as The Priory - was a `ladies` boarding school` at the time of our photograph.
