Here we are overlooking the beach, the upper part populated by marram or 'bentgrass'. As a holiday village, what we see here has to be one of the first examples of parking problems anywhere!

House In Clouds
the house in the clouds you can still walk right to the fence now that surrounds it. such a beautiful structure. opposite there was windmill when I came to visit Suffolk in 2010 it was then up for sale! the duck pond still there or boating lake which what is called.

Happy Holidays
My Aunty had a house right on the dunes. We stayed with her every summer until I was about 16 or 17 and a lot of our time was spent on the beach. When the tide went out there was sand beyond the shingle and we used to spend hours building sand castles, and swimming. Pie Time
Picking Blackberries next to the House in the Clouds and then going back to make Blackberry and Apple pies with my aunty at her house in Thorpeness.

Frozen Mere
Does anyone remember the very cold November of 1969? I think it was on the 20th that I was riding my motorcycle on the frozen mere. If anyone took a photo I would love a copy.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
