Tomlinson's Stores

A Memory of Thrapston.

My Farther owned Tomlinson's store and I grew up working there with my sister all through the war.

My great, great aunt and uncle owned Tomlinson’s Stores in the 1920s. His name was Henry Tomlinson. His wife was named Minnie.
I would be very interested to know why the store was sold.

Richard Gurney.
My parents were married in 1928, once they were married they brought Tomlinson's stores and moved in in December 1929. The shop was up for sale but we do not know why, my parents decided to keep the name Tomlinson's instead of changing it to my family name (palmer). We have many photos of the store over many years and other things such as grocery price list for items in the store in 1934. This is from the sale on the 7th September 1907 "Agreement for sale by Arthur G. Brown to Henry and Charles Tomlinson of a dwelling house and shop and ironmongers."
