More about this scene
The roofscape of Totnes remains largely unchanged. In the distance is St John's Church, Bridgetown; the wooded hill to the right is now the large housing estate of Westonfields. On the horizon is the 643ft eminence of Beacon Hill, once used for signal fires and today, with its twin masts, still in the communication business.
