Winkle Man

Did he have a hand barrow? I seem to remember him with a large flat wicker basket. That would be the early 50s - Avenue Road N15.

Thanks for your comment, but that must have been another winkle man, before Fred’s time, who rode what was a reversed tricycle with a large chiller box on the front, like some of the old icecream sellers had.

My grandparents lived next door to a family named Canham in Weir Hall Road in the 1950s.
