Towcester, The River Tove From The Bridge c.1955

More about this scene
This view of the River Tove is taken from the bridge that crosses the river on the line the Romans set for Watling Street, where the road itself changes alignment from north-west to west-north-west. This view records the hay piled up to dry in the riverside meadow: - a sight that disappeared long ago to make way for a tyre company.
