A Memory of Trafford Park.

Trafford Park

I have just been looking at some comments, I was brought up in Trafford Park from 1952 when I was born and until 1966 when my parents and I moved to Australia. I went to Trafford Park Primary School and at that time the Headmaster was Mr Organ. I have been looking at some old photos and I have been told that where I lived is no longer which sorta shatters your memories, my address back then was 810 Eight Street just across from the park that was there, and I have fond memories of Sid who used to be the park caretaker. I wonder if there is anyone alive that still knows me, I would love to get in contact with them again.

I saw some photo's of were we used to live and was shocked to see that its all gone.
Hi David

I lived in 5th street, went to trafford primary. I used to go around with Shelley Howarth and Linda Greenhalgh, they both lived in 8th street. I remember as a kid going around carol singing before Christmas, and making a guy Fawkes for bonfire night. Playing in the park till it closed, and sometimes jumping the gate when it was closed and sitting in the shed. Do you remember Vincent Hill or Stephen Foster. I lived in the park till about 1966 then we moved to Stretford.
Hi Elaine
Yes I have fond memories from way back then although i must admit with my age my memory is fading hahahaha but yes I remember those times, it would be really nice if we could keep in touch.
My Aunty and Uncle lived on 8th Street - John and May Moran - 818 I think.

I lived at 104 Second Avenue.
I was born in Ninth Street in 1944 and my surname then was Chamberlain and I had a sister Ann who was 4 years younger. We both went to Trafford Park School and Mr.Organ was the Headmaster. There is a group on Facebook - Trafford Park Villagers - where you can see old photos and keep in touch with old friends especially if you live in other parts of the world - I now live in Spain but it is great to keep in touch. I was in Stretford in December and as usual got lost coming off the M60 at Lostock circle and ended up going through the Park but it has lost all the atmosphere that used to be there, it just seems so down trodden and liveless.
Hi yes I remember the surname Chamberlain very well, I have been trying to join the trafford park group on facebook but because its a closed group, no one will accept my request to join which i have sent many times.I have never been back to Trafford Park since my family left in the early 60's for Australia, my brothers have and said it was very said to see that Trafford Park we knew has gone completely.
Hi Dave, I will see if I can get you in the group
Dave - I tried to invite you to Trafford Park Villagers but it said you had already been invited so try again, I have asked the question what you should do so if I get a response I will let you know
Hi
Lovely memories. I was a park lad and lived on 5th street. I went to Trafford Park until I moved to Stretford. Happiest days of my life were in Trafford Park? Barry Howarth
Hi, my name is Sue Heaton , my maiden name was Williams and my brother is Robert Williams. Our nan and grandad had the chippy on third avenue , I think it was next door to Coopers news agents. We both went to the school and yes I remember making a milky drink for Pop Organ. Lots of memories.
