More about this scene
Trefriw, like so many Welsh villages, boasts a long history which is not always evident from the predominantly 19th- century buildings. It is now best known for its woollen mill, a magnet for tourists. Yet the quality of its spring water attracted great Roman interest, and the Trefriw Wells offered recuperative bathing facilities through to Victorian times, and are still a lure for visitors. The Fairy Falls Hotel was one of many built to welcome the leisured classes.
