Jack Hampson Smith - a Memory of Two Dales.

My father was born at Sydnope Stand the day WW1 broke out, although on his birth cert, it is called Sydnope Towers. I visited about 20 years ago when a young man had just bought it and he showed me round and I went up the tower. I lived in Australia then and now live in New Zealand but I LOVE Derbyshire. Tips & Ideas

Not sure what to write? It's easy - just think of an important place in your life and ask yourself:

  • How does it feature in your personal history?
  • What are your best memories of this place?
  • How has it changed over the years?
  • How does it feel, seeing these places again?
  • Do you remember stories about the community, its history and people?
