The Haven

A Memory of Tynemouth.

My family including myself lived in the coastguard houses from 1949-1956, we, myself and my friends spent many hours on this beach and surrounding areas I attended tynemouth primary school and then linkskill sec modern
my father bought a rowing boat from a Benny Asaparty (possibly wrong spelling)who hired boats out
photos bring back great memories of living in the haven I wonder is there anyone on this site who remember this period
my name is Brian Hinchliffe

Comments & Feedback

Hi Brian, my dad stumbled across your message whilst looking at old photos of Tynemouth. He has asked me to message you as he’s not massively tech savvy (not sure why he thinks I am though!!). His name is Allan Armstrong and he used to hang round with your brother (?) Colin and spent most of their time down the haven. He remembers your dad, and remembers getting access to the look out tower?? Anyway, if i can leave my email address could you get in touch so I can put you I touch with him so he can iron out any of the details I may have listened to wrongly. vickywatson149@gmail.com
Thanks x
