Uley Brewery is in business to this day, one of a number of small breweries in the area that produce highly distinctive beers. The firm's products can be sampled in local pubs, some of which are good examples of 18th- century architecture - The King's Head, for example, with its brightly painted sign that dates from the time of George I.
