More about this scene
This last view in Dicker looks towards the main crossroads and The Dicker, which is hidden by the distant trees. The left-hand trees surround the 1843 neo-Norman parish church of Holy Trinity. The openness on the right has now given way to modern houses, and the post office and general store on the left is now a private house. The late Victorian estate cottages in the distance are in a more picturesque Sussex tile-hung style with ornate bargeboards to their gables.
