This is London Road, once known as Red Hill, leading up to Scale Hill. On the left is a noticeboard and gate giving access to Highfields and the Middle sports field. Further on is the primary school, once the National School, demolished in 1974. The school chapel and the Memorial Hall are on the crest of the hill.
