More about this scene
A half-mile south along London Road, it was built in 1861 by the school usher, Rev W J Earle, in brick with a subdued polychromatic treatment by a Birmingham architect. Regrettably, local stone was not used but luckily the house is on the outskirts of town and not easily visible. It was modernised in the 1960s.
