Hughendon Cafe

A Memory of Urmston.

I remember Willam Deacons Bank about 1955 to 1960 and what's more my mum used to take me to the market to point to me the hissing Tilley lamps. I went to the Empress Cinema and the Curzon Cinema. We lived next door to the Hughenden Cafe they had a small white scottie dog that chased us when we played in the field behind the cafe which was next door to us. There was a bakers across the road that had a vertical sign 'Tuareg Bread' . I tried to find a photo of the cafe on google maps so I could see where we lived next door but no luck.
Gosh!!

The sign said Turow Bread. I remember it well.
Sorry Turog not Turow.
Thanks for that Mr Winstanley, it's good to revive fond memories now and then !
