More about this scene
Victorian Ventnor became a refuge for consumptives, the kind climate aiding their condition. In a few short years four large homes for sufferers from tuberculosis were established in the resort. The good weather, fresh air and regime of long bracing walks probably did a great deal to alleviate their condition.
