The name of this village means 'Walhbert's farm', and dates from at least Saxon times. Two people take a rest on the remains of a long disused jetty, momentarily alone with their thoughts, whilst the full ebb tide exposes barnacle-crusted timbers, and leaves sailing boats lying to fore and aft moorings.
