More about this scene

As an approach to Junction 1 of the M53 motorway, Leasowe Road (A551) is now dual carriageway for much of its length. The semi- rural urbanity in this photograph has given way to fast-food outlets and the steady rumble of passing traffic. The vehicle at the kerb on the left belongs to Heavysege Limited, a local wine, spirit and beer wholesaler noted for its bottling of Younger's bitter.
